Keeping the planning resources page up to date helps make surevisitors always have access to the most accurate and useful information. This short tutorial walks you through adding a new resource using the website’s content management system (CMS).
Understanding How Planning Resources Work
Each item on the Planning Resources page appears as a clickable tile that includes a title, a short description, and a link to the full resource. These items are organized into tabs by category—such as Cost and Insurance, Surgery Preparation, or Aftercare—so users can quickly find what they need.
Inside the CMS, each resource entry includes:
- Name: The title displayed on the resource tile.
- Slug: Automatically generated and not important for this process.
- Description: A concise summary (keep it under 160 characters).
- Resource Link: The URL where the resource directs users.
- Resource Type/Category: Determines which tab the resource will appear under on the live page.
For example, the resource “Insurance Fees and Payments” was recently added under the Cost and Insurance tab.
Steps to Add a New Resource
- Open the CMS.
- From the main dashboard, navigate to the Planning Resources collection. This section currently includes all existing resources.
- Add a New Entry.
- Click the “New Planning Resource” button in the top-right corner.
- Fill in the Details.
- Name: Enter the title for your resource.
- Description: Write a clear, short summary (under 160 characters).
- Resource Link: Paste the URL for the external or internal page.
- Resource Type: Choose one or more categories/tabs where this resource should appear.
- Publish Your Changes.
- Once everything looks correct, click “Publish Now” to make the resource live on the site.
Tips for Best Results
- Keep descriptions brief and action-oriented to improve readability.
- Double-check the link before publishing—it should open in a new tab and lead directly to the intended resource.
- Review the published page to confirm your new tile appears under the correct tab.
